“I can’t see my points”
Here are a couple of things you can check:
Right-click in the Model space > Isolate Objects > End Object Isolation
Check the Point Group:
If the points are in a point group, check for groups ordered above the points’ group overriding the points’ style (E.g. if you have a NOPLOT" point group).
Right-clicking the Point Groups collection and selecting Properties will allow you to change the order by which point groups are displayed using the arrows to the right of the Point Groups popup window.
Right-clicking a point group and selecting Properties… will open the Point Group Properties window.
Point display can be overridden in the following ways:
Default styles set in the Information tab.
Properties ticked in the Overrides tab.
They can be added to point groups by using the Raw Desc Matching and Include tabs.
Specific points can be excluded from point groups using the Exclude tab.
Check the Point Style:
Right-click on the Point Group containing your points (_All Points if you haven’t set any others up).
Click the Edit Current Selection button next to the Point Style.
Under the Display tab, ensure the View Direction drop-down is set to Plan.
Make sure the “light bulb” icon is on under the Visible column for both Marker and Label.
Here, you can also see the Layer that the Marker and Label are using to be displayed. Use the Layer Properties Manager to ensure both of these layers are turned on and thawed.
Click OK to save any changes made to the Point Style.
Check the Point label style:
From the Point Group Properties, click the Edit Current Selection button next to the Point label style.
Go to the General tab and ensure Label Visibility is set to True.
Here you can also see which layer the label is using for its display next to the Layer property. You can use the Layer Properties Manager to ensure this layer is turned on and thawed
If all else fails, just turn everything on.
Enter the LAYTHW command to thaw all frozen layers.
Enter the LAYON command to turn on all layers.
Right-click in the Model space > Isolate Objects > End Object Isolation
Note: Just turning everything on won’t fix the underlying problem of how your points are being displayed, so make sure to take note of which layer your points are on if they show up.
